Wominjeka is an environmental playground located at CGS in East Malvern, Victoria. Designed with a focus the develop core strength or children as they play and build an appreciation of the natural environment. The climbing heights, tunnels, and dry creek beds create a dynamic and interesting play space to challenge the mind and body of the students. Natural textures of stone, sand, timbers, brick, and water were all incorporated to inspire inquisitive play. Colourful tunnels, a maze of poles, and the sculptured wiggly seat are all key features of the playground.
The PGH Bricks Vibrant range of glazed bricks were incorporated into the wiggly seat, providing both functional and aesthetic qualities to the project. From this collection, the Wasabi and Watermelon glazed bricks were used for splashes of vibrant colour. Adding a touch of boldness, Nobel from the Academy was also part of the selection. Not only that, but they work to create an environment that compliments the flowing form of the wiggly seat and playground. A highly durable product made with natural materials, and which have a long-term life cycle, PGH Bricks have provided a recycle and energy efficient solution.
