WHITE BRICKS ARE ONE OF THE KEY TRENDS RIGHT NOW. HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW – AND OUR TOP PICKS

With the Scandi-look and Hamptons styles reigning supreme at the moment, it seems just the right time to look at the enduring appeal of white bricks. Simple yet modern, a white brick façade is a perfect accompaniment to either of these on-trend styles (and so much more!).

Unlike their painted counterparts, white bricks are largely maintenance free – all they need is a simple brushing or occasional hose down to retain their pristine state. They stay white and their light colour makes them great at reflecting heat, ideal for the hot Australian climate.

Blanco from the PGH Bricks Morada range is a great example of a contemporary take on this shade, as it has a smooth texture, allowing it to suit modernist homes or work well with a coastal or Hamptons style. Mix it with trims in charcoal for a dramatic contrast, or match with a soft grey for a subtle finish.

You can also use the different shapes on offer through the Morada range – including linears and splits as well as the standard brick – blended within a wall or throughout a project to provide added depth and interest. Consider a feature wall in an alfresco area in the linear shape, or perhaps as a fireplace surround.

Another idea is to add textural white bricks to offset a minimalist palette – a stylish option is to use the beautifully textured PGH Lifestyle brick in Perisher, or perhaps the sleek Seascape glazed bricks in Sea Salt, available in both standard size or splits. Glazed bricks work particularly well as kitchen splashbacks (perfect as a standout element in an all-white kitchen) or as a feature in a living area.

For a more cost-effective solution, Frost from the Naturals range might be an appropriate choice. This incredibly popular style of brick is quite versatile, and even works well when blended with others. A great option is to blend Frost with a textured brick such as Crevole, from the Velour range, with its soft patina and subtle tactile surface, to create unexpected textural elements that change in appearance throughout the day in different lights.

Enduring, classic and beautifully simple – white bricks have come of age to move way beyond boring. Explore PGH Bricks’ full collection now.
