The Holy Family Church in Ingleburn, NSW is a quality building designed to stand the test of time, with the simple requirement to design for the parish and in dedication to God.
The church building reflects an architectural aesthetic, based on a modern twist to Romanesque style architecture. Selected due to its quality characteristics, Van Gogh* was used in this project, along with a contrasting double bullnose culvert header, and for the arches, a feature brick of Black Beauty* from the Dry Pressed Architectural range.
The Catholic parish church needed to seat 600 people and also contain a choir loft, sacristies, shrine rooms, confessionals, under croft meeting spaces and a traditional bell tower. When coming up with the building design, we always had in mind a traditional looking rumbled brick, light in colour, as are most Romanesque buildings, and specifically a brick that looked a little weathered and not having any distinct sharp lines.
